I need a new solar cover roughly 16x30 (a couple inches smaller would be fine as that is a rough measurement). In reading posts I should get the cheapest blue cover I can find since they don’t last long.
Any suggestions? Last time I just bought mine on Amazon, but am looking for a deal this time.

Last summer they were double priced or more due to the shortages. With half the country shorty thinking warm thoughts (and half already there), now is probably a good time. They used to be around $125 for reference. If you see that or anything close to it, jump, and quick. (y)

You want thin and cheap. Not only are the thicker covers more expensive, but the added weight makes them much harder to move and more prone to snag it on something. You gotta keep in mind that it will come off the pool soaked. 52 bazillion water drops add up, plus the weight of the cover. The manufacturers claim the thicker covers retain more heat but it's bullfeathers. Seran/cling wrap would hunder evaporation (70% of your heat loss) just the same. Good luck unfolding it tho. :ROFLMAO:

I had a 'clear' cover that was really white. I don't care if it got me 1-2 degrees like they (probably falsely) claimed with no tangible proof. It was FUGLY. Any glance out the window or across the yard saw a white tent that had collapsed. (Or whatever your brain would see). With a blue cover, it will fool your brain 9 times out of 10 when you weren't looking directly at it. So you will mow the lawn (etc) thinking there is a beautiful pool back there.

Nothing but fodder for the landfills … they should be banned. Surprised Cali hasn’t gone there yet.

I think the remains can be recycled- that’s what happened to my previous one. We also have a drought situation so it helps with evaporation which is one of my main reasons for having it on when it starts getting warmer.

I had one that i bought on clearance for like $15 to fit my intex pool - used it twice maybe. Threw it in the shed. Right after I bought the new 33’ pool I cleaned out the shed & threw it away (w/ my daughter saying the whole time “we might be able to use this for something”).
A couple months later we got the hot tub & I felt like an idiot for throwing it out as I watched the steam escape through the cover cracks 🤦‍♀️ I will probably never find another one for $15 again.

$15 is a steal!!
I do notice that the sun2solar covers are cheaper on the site provided above and more pricey if bought via Amazon. So that’s good to know! I am going to trim it properly this time and do a couple easy pull off sections. Last time I basically tore it apart yanking it off like a wild person every time.

Some people also cut them in half to make removal easier so if u find 2 small ones for cheaper u could go that route too.

I used pieces of mine forever. The ACs got winter wrapped with solar cover, cling wrap, then generous duct taping. I can't count how many times I used a piece as a moving pad, a scratch protector when storing things and when I actually moved there was only one material I trusted to protect the 65 LED TV. 4 or 5 layers of solar cover and copious amounts of the divine sticky stuff.

You can drive around here in the spring and fall and see trash can after trash can full of them. I’ll have to remember to grab a few and ship them to you …

I'm not someone who holds onto things trying to squeeze every drop of life from them. But that dang cover was the gift that kept giving. I mean. It prolly helped that it was a 20X40 and I only needed a few Sq ft at a time. :ROFLMAO:
