I bought a new motor and was about to connect the impeller, but can't figure out how to hold the shaft in the back of the motor. How are you supposed to hold the shaft inplace?

Note that there are wires under the capacitor and they need to be under the capacitor before the motor is turned on or the centrifugal switch can catch on the wires if they are in the red circle area.

Thanks, I'm trying to replace the motor, diffuser and impeller parts. I'm very confused on the motor shaft. There is no hole for the impeller screw on the shaft. Am I using the wrong impeller or wrong motor? The motor I am replacing was EUSQ1102.

There are two things I don’t agree with on the video but, that’s just me, I like to undo the thermal overload(white, blue and yellow wire in the above pic) it makes you inspect for any cracks from over heating or deformities, slip your 7/8ths wrench straight down to the shaft from behind the T/O, the casing actually has a cut out so you don’t have to hold the wrench, I don’t like messing with the capacitor unless I have to, second thing I don’t like about the video is no mention whatsoever about never touching the porcelain part of the shaft seal with fingers or lube, as far as your issue with the impeller, the end of the shaft is male threaded, your impeller should have female threads which would go together, the video does show that, if not you may not have the correct impeller,

If your impeller has the hole for screw, you must use a screw or the motor will be ruined in short order as water will be pumped past the inside of the seal and straight into the motor.

Stupid question, but can you plug the hole on the impeller? Or do you know the equivalent impeller without a screw hol to Pentair Whisperflo Impeller, 1 Hpl, - 073128 ?
