Cartridge Filter Mistake

So, I forgot to add this back to my cartridge filter and wondering what it does before I turn everything off again and remove my filter top.

Air bleed screen. Keeps debris from your air bleed valve. Prevents debris from entering the clean side of the filter system via the air bleed tube. It needs to be installed.
