New to this group and glad I found it. I've been hitting my head against the wall with no help from Leslie's about getting rid of my cloudy water. 1st month of our new pool had no problems, then bam, green. Leslie's gave me stuff to use with a list of steps and it temporarily took care of the green, but it has been cloudy since. This was basically 2 weeks ago, and Leslie's says I'm in the "normal" range for most of stuff. Im at a loss and frustrated but I found you guys and hoping to get help from a non-salesman. We have a 18x42 round Intex above ground. We are in N. Texas so there is plenty of sun, heat, and debris from the air.

Last testing results (Leslie's testing) is pictured below. Since then I have added one pound shock, and then clear aid the next day and vacuumed today.

Welcome to the forum!
You need to follow the SLAM Process. To do that, you need a proper test kit, see Test Kits Compared. I suggest the TF-100 A proper test kit is needed to get the accurate water chemistry results needed to follow the TFP protocols.

While you are waiting on your test kit, add 5 ppm FC worth of liquid chlorine / plain bleach to your pool each evening with the pump running. This will replenish the FC lost each day to the sun and also inhibit any algae in the water from growing further.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.

Jacob,
Stick around here and stay out of pool stores. That's the way it works with them sort of a time release where you keep coming back and feeding their bank. Here you keep coming back without taking out the wallet and best of all you get sound advice. No such a thing as a dumb question and the more you ask the more you'll learn and understand.

You’re in the right place! Listen to Mknauss and you will not only have a pool so clear it looks like it’s empty, but will be saving so much money!
You need a good test kit (they are pricey but worth it and last) and lots of liquid chlorine.
Here is our above ground, 16’ Intex when we opened it this spring (it sat half full and uncovered all winter) and an after photo. Once you read up on the ABC’s of pool chemistry this will get so much easier for you.
