Can't get chlorine levels back up

Update: I started following the SLAM method. Have used almost 9L liquid chlorine in 5.5 hours. Does this sound crazy ?
11am free chlorine @ 0. Added 2.8L liquid chlorine and got it >10.
2.30pm free chlorine @ 0, added 3L liquid chlorine.
3.30pm free chlorine @ 8.
4.30pm free chlorine @ 0. Added 3L liquid chlorine.

Thanks for your support. I have a new quartz plaster pool (with a glass filter and salt chlorinator) in Perth Australia that was having calcium issues. As per stain and scale remover product recommendations I lowered the chlorine to between 0 and 1 and ph to 7. I did the treatment in Thursday through to Saturday keeping the levels low. I havent been able to get the chlorine ever since. On Sunday I restarted the chlorinator on 4 and ph on 7.4 and pump 24/7 then bumped up the chlorinator to 8 on tuesday. I put in 700ml of liquid chlorine in on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and also have a floating tablet of stabilised chlorine. On Thursday morning (I.e. this morning) I tested chlorine 3 minutes after adding liquid and got a reading of 3. Now it's 2.5 hours since adding and the reading is back to 0. Pool shop thinks it might be an issue with the new chlorinator but I can see bubbly cloudy water passing through. Any ideas ? All other levels look okay. Thanks in advance

What chemicals are in the stain and scale remover product you used?

One of the basic tenets of TFP is never put a prodcut in your pool that you do not know the chemicals in it and what they do.

I suspect your stain remover is consuming your chlorine.

1. Lo chlor stain and scale attack part 1, 1kg active constituent Imidosulfonic acid
2. Lo chlor stain and scale attack part 2, 1kg, active constituent complex tetrasodium compound
3. Lo chlor aquaguard CSM 500ml. Active constituents anionic polymers

I think Imidosulfonic acid is similar or the same as sulfamic acid.

Sulfamic acid will mess up FC testing for months. We typically recommend draining the pool after a sulfamic acid treatment rather then trying to wait for the chemical soup to clear.

Thanks for this. I was finally able to get in contact lo chlor and they said yes oops we forgot to tell you when you first phoned (before you put in this product) that this can happen - A good dose of chlorine and it should be back. We will see. I intend on draining the pool in winter (6 months time). Looks like I'm on a goose chase.

One notable item on the store printout is copper level, suggesting you increase it. Never add copper or anything containing copper to your pool.
