I have been trying to upgrade the firmware in my omnilogic system. I have read that when downloading the upgrade
to a usb device I have to remove the .txt from the file name otherwise when I insert the usb drive into the Omnilogic it
won't be able to read it. I have followed the directions on how to do this but it still will not read the file on the usb drive.
When I look at the file in the usb root directory it shows the .txt is not there. Any suggestions?

@PoolBrews @CPS Reno can you help here?

Here are the steps to follow (this is assuming you are doing this from Windows):
  1. Make sure your USB drive is formatted to FAT32 - not NTFS. Right click on the USB drive and select Format, then select options as shown below.

  2. Download and copy the files you need to the USB. Everyone needs MSP and MPP, and if you have a wireless or wired remote you may need the other two:
    1. MSP (Main System Processor / Main System Touch Display) R3.2.0 12/19/2019
    2. MPP (Main Panel Processor / Main Board) R3.2.0 12/19/2019
    3. Wired (Remote) Terminal – HLWALLMOUNT R3.2.0 12/19/2019
    4. Wireless (Remote) Terminal – HLWIRELESS R3.2.0 12/19/2019
  3. You need to make sure the USB is set to NOT Hide extensions for known file types. In Windows Explorer, select Options, then click on View tag and ensure Hide extensions for known file types is not checked.

  4. The file names should show NO extensions on them... so you should see MPP_AP_R0302000-256 and not MPP_AP_R0302000-256.txt, MPP_AP_R0302000-256., etc.
  5. Now follow the directions in the release notes from Hayward and this should work.
Let me know how this works for you!

For what it is worth, I had a 32gb drive that wouldn't work. I went old school with a 512Mb and it worked just fine. I am guessing you could go bigger than that but it was the first small usb drive I found. :)
