Hi there. New here so please tell ke if this is the wrong place. My MIL has a Hayward puresilk PS15LS system with a completely blown cell (13 years old, never replaced) ive got the system up and running except for one problem. For the life of me I cannot find a replacement cell for this system. I can't find a hayward cell or even an aftermarket knock off (other than a single shop in Australia for $700).Is this my only option or can anyone help?

Welcome to the forum.
I know they sell the Low Salt systems in Canada. It would be great if you can use a conventional cell. Not sure if the control panel is compatible. I suspect it is by changing the cell type in the set up.

Unfortunately they only work with wholesalers. They have offered me recommendations to licensed installers for repair needs, but I'm really not looking to pay an arm and a leg to get a new cell screwed in. At this point I'll rip out the entire system and replace it myself before I do that.

From our Wiki, I believe you can just install a standard T15 cell and run at normal salt levels, if you wish.
The aquarite cell seems to be a different design of cell entirely. The puresilk system uses an upright electrode cell that's inserted into a housing rather than a single piece. Are the connectors and control box compatible? If so it should be fairly straightforward to adapt the pipes for the horizontal casing...Hayward Aquarite SWG - Further Reading

Not sure on the connections. Might be best to replace the entire thing with a Circupool.
Yeah, unfortunately my MIL is stubborn and spent alot of money on this system 13 years ago so wants to exhaust all options. She's been destroying this pool the last 3 years just dumping salt, shock, and algicide without a functioning cell.
That system was not marketed in the US to any extent. Look on eBay. Apparently the cells all come from Australia now and the cost is inline with other brands and models.

Here's a question I just have to ask. I am really new to salt water pools so forgive my ignorance - why not just get a whole new salt generator system with "normal" salt for the U.S. and not have to worry about it going forward? It seems like more trouble than what it's worth and the cell is not readily available. I do realize that an IG salt system is much more than a AG salt system but what happens when issues occur? I repair things for a living and sometimes it's better to replace then repair.
