Can you just add CYA directly into hot tub OR do you need to use sock or something else?

On refill, to get to 30 PPM in a hot tub, can you just add CYA (dry stabilizer not in diclor) directly to water since water is warm and hot tubs have good circulation OR do you need to put CYA in a sock and then in a filter or something?

I use a ladies knee-high stocking.. Does not take a lot and only takes about 5 minutes until it is all gone..

That is how I add it to my pool, so I do the same thing for the spa..

I dump the CYA around my filters, running both pumps on high. It's gone within the first filter cycle.
