Yes. Essentially you get twice as much for 50% increase in cost (if you use generic bleach). Clorox is way overpriced. Just remember to reduce the amount. There are plenty of websites dedicated to the mixing ratios if you don’t want to do the math.

I was assuming they were using pool chlorine for household use Like washing clothes and cleaning.

I used bulk liquid bleach for years before switching to swg. Bottom line his make sure it's only hypochlorite and it's the best price per gal of actual hypochlorite. Usually box stores are better priced than pool stores but sometimes pool stores have sales and any place that sells it in bulk 2.5 to 5 gal refillable jugs is the best price. There are parts of Houston area served by HASA and they have bulk. It comes in a variety of strengths mostly between 10 and 12% make sure to adjust for this when figuring the best price. Pool Math app will do the calculation for you if needed.
