Can an expert point me in the correct direction to replace the motor in this pump? *pic*

I can't seem to find an identical replacement and there are so many choices out there.

Per this thread, I think my motor is shot:

Inyopools.com have great advice, call them up and give them the motor specs, they will suggest a VS that is compatible. Electric company usually runs rebates on changing to VS pumps, look out for that.

Do you need that much horsepower?

Maybe consider going to a variable speed pump?
It is a 2 speed pump for my filter. 2 hp. 2.70 total hp. Pool was professionally built 3.5 years ago so I'm just replacing what they recommended. It also pushes water through a large 6 foot high waterfall.

If you're going with a VS pump, then you'll need to stick to a Hayward pump like the Tristar VS or Ecostar to be able to control it with your OmniLogic controller.

What about the motor that I linked to earlier?

It's listed as 2.6 hp vs. 2.7 hp for the Tristar.

However, in my opinion, the full rate Tristar hp is exaggerated.
