Calculating volume of this...

DO this -

Apparently I'm doing something wrong. I'm coming up with 6900 gallons.

The initial testing showed pH of 6.8. It's now 7.5.

When you add the R009, do you stop when the color changes initially to a shade of red(pink) or will it get a deeper red the more I add??

I have no idea how to treat this pool until I figure out the volume.

With the TA test you keep adding drops until the red color stops changing. That’s usually just a few drops after it goes from green to reddish-brown.

You’ve probably erred in something because just doing some simple average values for length/width/depth, the volume comes out to about 14k gallons. Take perhaps 80% of that value for the irregular shape of the pool and should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 12k gallons.

One other way to do it is by trial and error. Start of with 12k in your PoolMath app and then add enough chlorine to raise the FC by 3-4ppm. Then measure the actual FC rise about 45 mins to an hour after adding (works best when there’s no sunlight using up your FC). If you overshoot or undershoot your actual versus calculated FC, then you just change the volume to account for it. Repeat that a few evenings in a row and you’ll eventually circle in on the answer.
