Calcium Flakes from SWCG when pool is covered

When I hear of calcium flakes in a salt pool, I immediately think of those flakes being released from the cell plates. This could be done either when an owner lowers their CSI level, or some SWGs go into a self-clean type mode. Perhaps that's what you are experiencing? I'm not so sure the cover would influence that process, but we can ask @Donldson to be sure.

K,

My robot pics up calcium anytime I let my CSI get on the positive side of zero... As long as I watch my CSI, I never have the problem..

Just to be clear.. I do not have a cover and I doubt the cover has any direct effect except for the temperature of the water.. Water temp effects CSI a lot..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Is it possible that the pool is just getting less use, so the flakes are not being stirred up and absorbed? My SWG does produce a small amount of flakes even with CSI slightly negative and borax in use. I am sure it is the self-clean cycling. I would imagine the small amount that I get, would look like more if there isn't much swimming / dogs or humans.
