White Flakes in Fiberglass Pool

2/01/24 - deck poured
2/03/24 - powder hosed off
2/20/24 - 1st coat of sealer
2/21/24 - 2nd coat of sealer

Nothing done to it since then, but it’s only 6 months old. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to reseal it early, especially if it’s the cause of the flakes.

Too early for that.

If the deck is “shedding” you’d see it when sweeping the deck. If that were the case, you should ask the deck subcontractor to come out and look at it and give you advise. If it’s not shedding, then the particles are coming from a different source.

We’ve always blown it off so never have had a chance to see if it’s shedding.

Just a follow up in case anyone else ever has this issue. It’s definitely coming from the stamped concrete deck.

The pool had been flake free for a couple weeks. We had moved our potted plants off the deck in during prep for hurricane Francine so I wasn’t out there watering them, and the deck in the process. We finally moved the plants back out and I watered them and the deck yesterday morning. That evening…a bunch of flakes in the pool.
