I just bought an intex sand filter but doesn’t turn on, it only has a red dot on the screen like been in power safe mode, when I press on/off button doesn’t do anything, any ideas? Thanks!

0rth0, I tried to find some info on Google and the Intex site, but didn't find anything specific to the red dot - at least not for today's newer models. Older models it meant there was a problem with the SWG, but yours is new so I don't think that's it. I'm at a loss. Perhaps another Intex owner will rely over the weekend, otherwise you may have to call their customer service. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I'm having the same issue. Just a period on the screen. Got a different pump. It worked great for about a week. Now it runs for about 15 minutes. Then stops and shows the same red dot as the one that doesn't run at all.

Went to check the pump out. Screen was just black. Checked to see if it had tripped. It hadnt. Bumped it and it beeped, blinked and shut off again. Tapped the side about 20 times. Not hard at all. Just a tap. Every time it came on. Believe I have a loose connection somewhere in there.

Intex stuff seems very flicky. I bought a chlorinator that seemed DOA. Nothing happened when plugging the cord. Unscrewed the cover, and found one loose cable inside. Put it back into its socket and it now works perfectly.

I took mine apart. It took about 30 mins to find it, but the board inside that the cord and start buttons connect to had a broken solder spot. Not sure if its a resistor or what. It was square with a solder point on each corner. It would just barely move enough to see it. I soldered it back together and its going great.

Thats exactly how mine looked. It had a broken solder on the board the screen plugs into. Knock it on the side a couple times. Not too hard of course. If it blinks on and off again its that or a loose wire.
