Ok, opinions... dump chlorine slowly in front of return or put it into the skimmer?

RETURN, NEVER put chemicals (rare exception CYA) in the skimmer
And it is best to not add CYA via the skimmer. The use of a sock with the dry powder in it hung in front of a return is much better.
As far as I know, yes it is. As long as you keep the FC close to shock Level for your CYA [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA]SLAM has begun! CYA is now at 30 after filling all the way and vacuuming to drain. Amazing since is was over 200.
Ok to have Polaris mix water?

I vacuumed to drain before SLAMing!
That will be a learning period. At first you might re-test the FC in about an hour. If it held very close to 12 (your SLAM level), then next time you might be able to wait longer. At some point you hope to get where you test the FC every few hours and it holds quite well. But early on, the intervals will be sooner. IN either case, simply bump it back up as required and do your best to maintain it between work, shopping, etc. Also, when should I check the FC again?
Possibly. Also check the calculator "WEIGHT" field on the FC row to ensure it shows the correct percentage of bleach being used. By default it might show 6%.Pool must be less gallons than estimated?
What are the actual measurements of your pool?
Length : width : avg depth (deep+shallow/2) Just to help double check if you want =)
Originally I was 35000.
40’ x 21’
Shallow end is 3’ of water. Just measured.
Deep end is 7.75’ just measured.
But the corners aren’t perfectly square.
