Hi - can someone tell me how to attach my compressor to the pump drain plug? What kind of attachment do I need and where do I buy it? Must be pretty standard I assume.

Thanks.

So I am thinking about closing my pool and doing a little research... Reading, etc... I think the concern is about water freezing, expanding and breaking the pipes - so if this is the case then most water needs to be out, but not every last drop. Some people are like drying out the pump basket with a towel, seems like overkill. Just wanted to confirm my thoughts.

I guess it's just a not fitting with a quick connect t, then put the other side of the quick connect on the hose... I'll order some fittings from Amazon and try it out ..

Are you only asking about the pump basket? There are drain plugs on the housing. Personally, I do not remove them and dry the basket with a microfiber towel. Then I allow the air to dry the remainder and place lid on top. Any moisture or water that gets inside will not cause any damage whatsoever.

I see you created another thread. Please keep everyone in one thread next time to make your life easier. Regarding your questions, please read my post in its entirety. You will see an NPT fitting that can be attached to the basket, plus other ways of closing the pool, etc. Questions, please ask.

I was asking two different topics. One is about the hose connector that fits to the compressor. The other about the water level in the line. In theory, I believe the lines just need to have sufficient water out to deal with expansion, this should not be too hard. People probably try and go overboard. Thanks.

Please look at my thread as you will find most of what you are looking for. Are you closing the pool for the first time? What will you be using for air and where are you attaching the compressor/blower, etc.? You do not want expansion. You want to remove as much as possible so even the slightest expansion will cause no issues.
