Blank canvas in Laughlin, NV.

It's a crack. About 3" long. It's just the front of the niche that is messed up, the back is still brand new looking. That's a lot of unwanted work I'll have to do to replace the whole thing..

Was thinking using jb plastic weld on the crack and then spraying the entire inside with something like Flexseal or another sealant that is submersible.

Good news/gooder news.
Good news is that I patched up the
light niche with some jb plastic weld and I sprayed the entire inside with
a waterproof sealer.
The gooder news is that I went back and looked at my pre-shotcrete photos and I noticed that-that deepend light niche and attached conduit is fully encased in the shotcrete. I was worried that the conduit went into the dirt behind the niche, but because we had sand bags forming out the raised edge, we ran the conduit up through the pool wall.
Being totally surrounded by concrete should hopefully add some protection from possible future leakage. I was thinking about waterproofing around the conduit where it comes out of the pool wall just to be safe...
Anyway, progressing a bit, add electrician to my repertoire...
Next up El Copingaire goes to work on the travertine coping...?

?Here I go again on my own...

Since I used the stack stone on the face of the spa instead of tile, I now find have too much leftover tile.
New plan is to tile the risers for the steps leading to the deck. After completion I should still have enough tile to save for possible future pool tile woes. And it'll blend the deck steps in with the pool.

? More later....

Just working on a little fun amateur tile session...
Would be farther along if it wasn't for the gale force winds we've been having lately...
Hopefully I'll have some news regarding coping soon...

Y
Did you use a level to make sure your "supports" were level? Or did you use the level on the top of the tiles? They sure look level to me and oh so pretty!
Yeah, not very professional looking work in progress, but everything will be all level when it's all said and done...?

Not the good kind, of course, but it is water...have had a rough few weeks...
I should've bought my pool coping last month when I didn't have 2 broken cars and before we bought a new/used car last Saturday.
Gonna take a bit to build back up the pool fund.?
Anyway should be back on track when I sell some unused/unneeded internal organs and some blood.
Deck steps are coming together nicely, will be buying some new lights soon. Have probably a week more of work on them and I'm done.
No pix til then.

Short list of "to do"
-Finish deck steps tile and lights then they're ready for coping/concrete.
-Build a wall around pool equipment and side of house. (Need for pool safety)
-Pool coping
-Concrete deck, or used carpet if we have to... hehe
-Plaster

Not too many more "little projects" left to do. I'll hopefully be checking off some items on my list very soon.

Here are a couple of "I'm glad I'm not him" photo's for your enjoyment.
I think I have plan!

in only three days!

That's the idea I started with about a year ago.
Here is the latest update on my deck steps. Just want to point out that I've never done any electrical, tile or concrete in my life before I embarked on this pool journey...still have some work to do tomorrow but I think it's looking, not bad.

Travertine 90% done. Concrete deck in negotiations :) but really really close...
Pool completion date set. Jan11th. Maybe. I think. Hopefully. We'll see....
I realize that haven't updated this post in a while, but I have been plugging away.
I will post a completion post when it's all done. That hopefully will be before the end of the year.
