No, the picture below is not a 90's alternative bands album cover.
It's not all fun and games here in the backyard, I only had one more hole to drill but it took me 3 shattered practice tiles to get it done.

It seems as if I'm actaully getting close to getting something accomplished!

Hey, shouldn't I start figuring out pool chemisty and equipment and...whoa what have I gotten myself into? :p

Man, you know you’ve been around for awhile when Kim makes you find the links in her signature.
When I started this mess I think everybody was on myspace, kimkats was known as kimkitten and I had brown hair. I'VE BEEN WORKING ON MY POOL FOR OVER FIVE YEARS...pushing six...
Thank you beer (and trouble free people) for helping me through this emotional time. lol

gonna be a long night...filling up the pool now, filled the spa all the way, but it has since dropped 12" in an hour, hopefully the spa won't be empty in the morning...with all i've done, i am thinking the worst...no leaks at the pool equipment, maybe just some kind of gravity thing? ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

I am thinking check valve not working or not installed. I would NOT fill the spa again. In fact I would think about finding a way to remove any water that is in there. I hope what water that is in there does not leave a "ring around the tub" on the new plaster.

Now that we have water in the pool, I think I may be in over my head, all these valves and returns and relays...
Anyway, I pulled out the spa return check valve and it seemed fine to me, replacement guts came in the mail so that may be tomorrow's project. Messed with valves and found a happy medium for now, pool pump is on, circulating great, spa is kept full with pump on.

Small issues everywhere, but hey, I figured I'd have the waterline tile 3" higher on one side of the pool than the other so I guess we're doin alright.
Not bad for someone who still.has no idea what he's doing! lol

:ROFLMAO:

PS: I called a pro for help. Later this week.
On paper everything is in place, but not doing what it's supposed to be doing. More tomorrow!

Pretty pictues yesterday evening, this morning back to reality.
Kept the pump running all night to keep circulation going.
Pool level now down 2-3"
Since 2 spa jets are sucking not "returning"
I'm thinking maybe a leak, or just clogged.
With everything off now I'll see if the spa is still draining. Or pool? Yesterday the spa drained down to the to pool level, probably the check valve. But maybe not.
This is after only 15 minites of pump being off.

I'm thinking about changing the spa return check valve today, capping off the two spa returns that may have issues and trying again.
Hopefully the pool doesn't drop any lower on its own.

Can you complete your signature so we know what pool equipment you have?

Are you having to add water to the pool? That much drop is not just evaporation, though evaporation is very high right now.

I haven't added anything since it was filled on Monday evening, Tuesday night there wasn't a drop in pool level just the spa. Last night was the first night I had pump on. Put a piece of tape at pool water level an hour ago no change yet. Spa is almost empty.

I'm just going to wait for awhile today to see if there is any change in the pool level, it already went up a bit from the spa draining. How much water can the system hold in the pipes and equipment? hmm..
