Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

The HDs in Houston are all but cleared out of 10 percent (except for a store 25 miles away).. Any other ideas? Lowes will not show stock online right now. Someone mentioned HASA once but looks like their Texas location is halfway to Waco.

Anyone know a bulk liquid chlorine source in Austin TX? I built a Stenner pump injector which has made life a lot easier but I'd love to find a source for liquid chlorine in larger than the 1gal jugs I've been getting from Lowes or HomeDepot (best price, highest concentrations I've found thus far). I feel bad about constantly blowing through so much plastic.
I would like to second this for DFW. (preferably southwest FW)

Yeah, I just noticed a HD store 30 miles away had 163 cases of 3, and 4 hours later had 22 cases, gone now. At least their inventory seem current. Just waiting for the zero to change.

Picked up 6 today 20-101. HD store is very accurate on stock. Stock seems move from one store to the next each day. Just need to bookmark and check each morning.

If you’re desperate for a few gallons, the Phoenecia grocery store in downtown Houston has bleach by the gallon, at $7 per. I didn’t check the %. I wouldn’t stock up at that price, but I might consider it if I was desperate for a gallon or two.

Check HD online daily. Their stock is very up to date. I waited 2 weeks, stock was added one store at a time, until it hit mine. Showed 50, I bought 6. Got home in the afternoon, showed 36.

I’m finding TONS of plain, regular Kroger brand 6% and 7.14% bleach in Kroger stores all over the Columbus, Ohio metro area. I’ve seen a few Columbus members on the forum so I figured I’d throw it out there. I know it’s weak but it’s better than no bleach! Ace Hardware also has 10% LC you can order online and have delivered to the store for pick-up. :)

AZ (Phoenix Area) people. Fry's had 10% 2 packs on sale for $5.99 this weekend. $3/gallon for 10% is the best price I have seen locally in a long time. All had April Manufacturing date.

For any Tucson Jug-dumpers, this was an interesting find in my local Safeway Supermarket -

It was fresh (20-128), 6% laundry bleach, no additives, no “Fabric Protection Technology” (aka, CloroMax). Here’s the kicker - it was $2.49 for a REAL gallon (128fl oz) versus Clorox 6% which was $4.49 for 81fl oz (!!!!). So the Clorox was 1.8x higher in price for 37% less volume!

I have an SWG so I use bleach in my laundry, but if your around Tucson, keep an eye out for that brand...

I like the PPM dosing chart on the back. My kind of geekiness on a product... I still have too much Liquid chlorine left. I hate to admit it, but once I dial in the SWCG, I will then cut the percentage and half and use up all but a couple of gallons in the pool that way. I just didn't want to wait any longer in case I had a bad unit shipped to me... I still use it in the detached hot tub, but a gallon goes a LONG way in the hot tub...

Menards: Being based in Wisconsin, Menards should at least be listed there too. From their web site: "stores located in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming"
Also Menards has Crystal Bleach 8.25% (by weight) 121oz normally for $2.97 but is frequently on sale (as it is now) for $1.99, useful when the 12% is not on sale. It is where I buy all of my chlorine in Iowa.
Menards has my vote for here in Illinois. Been using this for several years and it's 12.5%

I gotta ask as my pool will be filling up hopefully in the next week or so, do you look for liquid chlorine or just regular bleach? It seems like people interchange these terms all the time, but can you really just use normal, unscented, bleach? I've been eyeing up liquid chlorine at HD/Walmart, but just curious if I should spread my searches on prices to include regular bleach as well?

For example, local Walmart has liquid chlorine for $3.64/128oz, but their store brand Great Value concentrated bleach (no splashless, no scent) is $2.67/121oz.

Give the video on this page a watch, I think it’ll help clear up a few things for you.
