Temps dropped last few days to low of 8 degrees and only high of 30 degrees next 5 days. Water temp in pool is now 30 degrees. Pumps on 3400 RPM 24/7,. Question is should I run my ultra temp in hope to keep water above freezing? I am currently bypassing it. Any other recommendations to prevent damage? Surface of water is currently open, ice starting to form along edges.

No, your heat pump will not do anything in freezing temperatures.

Is there a reason your pump is running at such high RPM? If not, lowering it to something like 1200rpm will reduce energy consumption by 95% (2400W vs 125W) while still giving you >20GPM of flow.
