Beginner CYA lvls

My Taylor K-2006c shows up today. Been using drops for FC and PH with test strips for everything else.

Being in arizona what levels do I need to maintain? This is an above ground vinyl pool.

cyanuric acid (CYA)
free chlorine (FC)
total chlorine (TC)

Does 2 year old Liquid chlorine go bad ?

So maintain around 60 CYA and 7 FC

Yes, two year old liquid chlorine is suspect. Test FC before and 30 minutes after adding the Pool Math recommended amount of liquid to reach your target FC level based upon your water volume. Adjust old liquid chlorine accordingly to stay well in your target range then purchase a fresh supply and get ready for summer.

Does 2 year old Liquid chlorine go bad ?

Its effectiveness will will degrade over time and how its being stored.

You could try using it and retest a short time later.

Using the old chlorine I had to add 5-6x more to reach the level I wanted.
Using the old shock it did what pool math said it should
The old is all gone and now using the new which is following the pool math calculator.
