Bbb method

Welcome to TFP :)

Could you clarify your question? We refer to the TFP concept of keeping a troublefree pool by knowing and understanding your pool chemistry and only adding to the pool what the pool needs. Often consisting of bleach borax and baking soda for different adjustments but certainly other things like CYA need to be included in that.

BBB is an old term we no longer use as it leads to confusion, and many if not most never use Borax. We use the term "TFPC Method" which originated from it, albeit with some differences.

As far as how long, it's a forever methodology and process of pool care, instead of something you do sometimes. Check out Pool School and begin with the ABCs and feel free to ask all the questions you need too. There are always plenty here who will enjoy helping you.

Tell us more about what you have, and what you have going on right now.

Hello and Welcome to TFP!

The TFPC method (formerly BBB) is a way to care for your pool and not just a single process or one time thing.

Based on your question and your profile pic, I'm assuming that you are or were trying to clean up a green pool.
In that case, the SLAM is complete when you have a Clearwater, pass the Overnight Chlorine Loss Test and Combine Chlorine is below 0.5ppm.

If you could give us more background about what's going on, what your pool looks like, how you test, type of chlorine you use, then we could try to answer your question better.

In your area?

Until late September/early October. Follow the advice in this link, and winterize your pool. Then start up back up with it again when you remove the cover the following Spring. ;)

All kidding aside, I read your other first two posts. It looks like you are in serious need of a SLAM. Have gotten a proper test kit yet?

Daily, measured bleach / liquid chlorine additions result in sparkly, clean water every day of the swimming season!

And It sure beat the hours of attempting to clean dirty pool water, cleaning filters, and repeated spouse and kids nagging you about "when can we get in the pool?"
