Hello folks! Thanks to this community I have managed to educate myself and save money, although I'm still learning. Question: does it make sense to balance the salt in my pool if I am going to close it down and not run my SWG for the winter? Thanks in advance for all your help/comments.

Once I shut my SWCG off for the season, I never check salt again until the Spring..

Even though I don't formally "close" my pool in the winter... I get enough rain that I don't worry about the salinity levels until spring when the water gets warm enough for the SWG to start doing its thing again.. so the short answer is don't worry about your salinity until you are ready to run you SWG.
