AVOID Saltpoolstore!

I bought a "Platinum Edition Compatible Salt Cell for Hayward® T-CELL-15" for around $350 last spring with a FIVE YEAR WARRANTY.

I really liked that it had a plexiglass window about the cell so you could see how clean it was. Awesome feature.

It ran for three months then failed. My computer said "0000" salt, and Leslie's confirmed the cell failure, compared to a known good cell.

This vendor wanted me to jump through hoops before they would allow me to return it for warranty. I am handicapped and just could not do what they requested.

They finally sent me a return authorization, and have had the cell for nearly two months. They ignore my email inquiries, disconnect me when I call, and now my number is blocked? I have been a perfect gentleman with them.

I am getting a refund from AMEX.

Discussion about them and other clone cell sellers at...

hopefully amex has your back.
Unfortunately you’re not alone in having issues with sps. There’s lots of threads about them.

If you can’t afford to go genuine Hayward,
As far as generic T cells go several members have had good experiences with circupool brand (via discount salt pool) ,
pureline brand (via inyopools),
chlorinator pro,
and rebuilds (via salt solutions).

In general, even the best quality generics often have a lesser warranty and a lower hour lifespan/rating than genuine Hayward cells.
In Arizona with such a long pool season this is even more important as you will put more run time hours on a cell per year than someone in a milder climate with a shorter pool season.

Salt solutions & chlorinator pro were both out of stock when I was piecing my old aquarite back together so I opted for a pureline cell & its gone well for 2 seasons so far and paid for itself already.
Best of luck 🤞

I bit the bullet and bought a new OEM cell for my AquaPure. Too many stories of premature cell failure using 3rd party.
