Are all wiring for valve actuators universal? Can I change actuator and use previous wiring?

Welcome to TFP.

Have you looked at how the wires are connected inside the actuator?

It is just a standard 3 wire connection.

I have not removed old actuator. I have purchased a Jandy actuator to replace a cheap chinese actuator I had bought on Amazon only lasted 12 mths. just needed to know if all cables are universal so that In could use the previous wiring?

The cable is but you are not going to find a plug connector in the actuator if that is what you are expecting.

The Chinese cable may not be as high a quality as the Hayward cable. So why change to a lower quality cable?

Take a look at what you want yo do and decide if it is within your ability.

Yes, all any manufacturer's actuator can be used with any modern (24V) system. You may have to adjust the cam so that it stops where you want it to, much easier on newer Jandy actuators.

178,

The new actuator will come with a cable that is ready to go. It is connected inside the actuator and has the correct connector to be plugged into your automation. Using the old cable just does not make any sense to me.. ???

Why do you want to do that???

Thanks,

Jim R.
