AqualCal heater fan motor replacement

I have searched the internet for days without success.
I have an AqualCal heat pump pool heater and the condenset fan motor shaft literally rusted in half. I know the motor part # is ECS0120 but they are nearly $400 and to me that is crazy.

My question is this: If I find another 1/2HP 1075 220v motor (ie similiar specs) is there any reason why I can't install that as a replacement? I can not find any cross reference sites to make sure it will work. No one seems to stock this motor or even know where to get it (from AqualCal suppliers).

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately all the motor labels are inlegiable. I had found the same parts and the $140 motor was ordered from allwatermeters only for them to cancel the order stating that there was a huge price increase.

I'm going to order a non AquaCal motor from Amazon, so thank you for the input! I just don't see this thing being worth even $370.

Most fan motors can be replaced with non OEM motors as long as the specifications match. A photo of the fan motor and its label is needed to confirm that. Some manufacturers attempt to make it difficult to replace by using OEM fan motor connectors or OEM fan motor mounts or non traditional shaft sizes (5/8' vs 1/2"). Things to look for, shaft orientation ( shaft horizontal { can use a sleeve bearing motor}, shaft up or down { normally use a ball bearing motor } ) ,Open or TE (totally enclosed) housing ( motors with TE housings come with plugged weep holes in both ends and the end that is down must have the weep hole plug removed when it is installed ). Other specs must match also e.g., electrical specs, rpm, fan rotation etc.. Fan motors are specced to work correctly with the fan blade that is used ( number of fan blades and pitch of fan blades). As mentioned a photo of the fan motor and its label is needed to try to match it up.

Can you show the motor with all wiring and include dimensions?

As long as the specs are the same with the same wiring and mounting, it should work.

Aquacal and other manufacturers do not make parts like fan motors, compressors, capacitors etc, they just buy from manufacturers.

Sorry for the late reply. I just fijnished the project today.

I purchased a motor from Amazon for $128

1/2 hp 1075 RPM 48 Frame 208-230V 5 5/8" Diameter Condenser Fan Motor | EM3730F​


It worked like a champ but the condenser fan grille was also rotted out so I ended up buying 2 6" aluminum disks from Amazon for $25.

2 Pcs 1/4" X 6" Aluminum Disc Round Aluminum Sheets and Plates, 6061 Aluminum​

I used these disc's to sandwhich the motor to the grille via longer bolts.
I purchased (4) 1ft long #8x32 all thread rods to replace the factory bolts, double nutted them with loctite and bolted it all back together.

I am happy to say its working great now, if not better than before. I do have some vibration which I do not remember before but I think it
will be OK.

THanks for the input. As you can see, for under $160 I fixed it myself.
Now for these GD Pentair LED lights that also went out.
