Hi Gene, I'm liking the app, BTW!
I left town for almost a month to visit a sick relative. Before I left I put some pucks in the pool to play it safe this time as I've always had some kind of problem with my salt systems, even though with the new system I was sure it'd likely be fine. Good thing I added pucks! The salt system went down at some point towards the last week of the trip. The best I could get my husband to check the pool was once every 5 days or so and I believe he wasn't checking it correctly either. My FC #s were half his when I got home. I also showed him again how to test and he was testing much too fast not waiting for the color to catch up. He didn't always check the pH either and instead guessed and added acid a time or two which may have decreased the pH too much.
When I got back a couple days ago I've been trying to get things back on target and pick up where I left off when I left. I'm surprised at how low the pH is. That must be due to there being MA in the pucks? that's pretty cool if so. I think I'll always put some pucks in when I leave. I was surprised at how with 2-4 pucks at a time it didn't raise the FC more than it did. It was an experiment and a back up. I'm thrilled we didn't end up with algae and would've if I wouldn't have had that back up, so at least that part's good.
I got the alert and my husband said the cell did have CH. I'm not sure how much. I was out of town.
CSI is showing -.033 past couple of days so I'm letting the pH rise now that I've taken out the pucks and got the omnilogic up and running again. TA is 50 which I'm not sure if I've ever experienced, so that'll rise, too.
***I'm a little surprised it said we needed to clean it but if it says we need to clean it and I find CH I'd have a hard time not cleaning it. Do you ever find that your system tells you to clean it when it doesn't need cleaning and if so, what do u do then?
Nonetheless, would you know how I can make the suggestion to add this to the app or will that be a give in since I posted it? I add it under notes but the maintenance buttons stand out when trying to look back quickly. thx!
