Any Professionals that follow TFP process in Austin, TX?

If you can find someone to add chlorine for you, have them add 1.5 gallons of liquid chlorine a day. That will add 5ppm per day and likely be enough that algae won't grow while you are gone. Won't get rid of it, but will protect from a swamp while you are gone.

Thanks for the recommendation. The latest tests show the CC’s have actually gone from 0.5 to 1.5ppm.

Is that a good thing during SLAM meaning the bad stuff is getting oxidized?

I’ve already had to add almost 7 gallons starting at 7am I’ve been adding every 2 hours to push the FC back up to the 20ppm that PoolMath calls for.

I still have 9 more gallons but am thinking I may need more. The crazy thing is the water looks crystal clear! Maybe I’m nearing the end? I’m going to stay up late tonight and continue adding every 2 hours as long as I can while also keeping the IC-60 producing at 100%.

Any other thoughts?

Likely.

Do not run the cell at 100%....quickest way to kill a cell. Best to turn it off. If you insist on running it, run it at a lower percent.

9 gallons...ha ha....this was one afternoon...Keep going!

I had no idea it would hurt the cell. Thank you. I’ll shut it off.

How long did your SLAM last? I started mine yesterday around 630pm and have been adding every 2 hours religiously.

I think I need to run out and buy more liquid chlorine before I leave…

Is running it at 100% what you’re saying will kill it or running it at all with FC levels high during a SLAM? I’m thinking I’ll take I’ll the help I can get raising the FC and keeping it high. Nighttime with no sun burn off could be good way to push it higher.

It is the continuously running at 100%, not the SLAM.

6 or 8 days, 45 gallons, 7a-1a every two hours.

Every pool is different, can't compare yours to mine. Might take a few days, a week or a couple weeks.

Got it. I’ll drop down to 60% to get the extra FC boost. Really appreciate your advice.

Just bought another 20gallons of liquid chlorine, and this time 12% vs the 10% I’ve been using. I’ll have a friend test and do 2-3 gallons a day as long as FC continues to drop or CC’s present,

Not 2-3 gallons. Add based on test result and slam target.
