I have a leak in my pool, my skimmers are now empty and one of the skimmers has red ants in it, is this a sign of a plumbing issue not being sealed ?

Possibly. In my area the fire ants only come to the surface to escape moisture, usually after a rain but could be anything. If the ants you are seeing are different (i.e. Sugar Ants), then they might just be taking advantage of the open (dry) location.
Nah fire ants - typical Texas pests was just curious as to if I need to look at something since they came in the skimmer box after there was no water
