Ants around concrete pool deck

I have ants around the concrete pool deck. These little buggers are pushing sand into the pool making a huge mess. I am looking for ideas how to get rid of them using the least amount of toxins. I would prefer to spray insecticide but my wife won’t go for that. Any and all ideas would be welcomed.

Boric Acid. You can tell your wife it is used in human eye drops, lotions, and anticeptics...so not a pesticide. And it won't hurt the pool or water.
