Another trying to decrease TA

Having waterline evaporite scale is not unusual. Is your water line tile smooth or rough? Rough surfaces will harbor the scale easier.

The high TA contributes to the formation, but realistically nearly all pools will get some amount of evaporite scale at the waterline. It shows worse on certain colors and types of tile than others.

The tile isnt 100% smooth. It has some pits to it, but its pretty smooth to the touch. Vinegar and some scrubbing seems to be taking it off the tile. The grout though has been tougher to get off. The white on the tile is smooth to the touch. Doesn’t feel rough or crystallized.

Well I have no idea what I did differently this time I put Acid in, but my TA is now 130 down from 240. So definitely a lot better then where I’ve been for 2 months. I know it’s still not right, so a little more to go.

Thanks for the advice everyone

Sediment in the vacuum now. And I dropped the salt level by draining water, but now my chlorinator is saying there is high salt again. Here are my numbers. Still fighting the ALK. Only thing I’m putting in the pool is Clorox Bleach and Jasco Blue Label Muratic Acid. Here is a pic of what the vacuum is picking up. What am I doing wrong?

additionally I had the salt down to like 3200 not too long again when I did about a foot of water replacement, so not sure how the salt keeps increasing. Pool is covered with an auto cover 95% of the time. So not rain water or anything like that.

FC - 6.4
CC - 0.0
pH - 7.4
Alk - 150
CH - 320
CYA - 60
