Another slamming question

I am still in the middle of slamming and my TA is a bit low. Should I adjust the TA while I am slamming?

FC 14
CC 1.5
CYA 47
PH 7.6
TA 30
CH 250

It would not hurt to add 20 ppm TA worth of baking soda.

Your pH test is compromised by the FC above 10 ppm

How are you testing? The proper test kits cannot test a CYA of 47. If you are using the vial, round up. The scale is logarithmic. Use 50 ppm as your CYA.

I would think finishing the SLAM is more important at this point. What test kit are you using? CYA is 47?? CYA should have been either 40 or 50 not 47...

Looks like Manaus and I were responding about the same time so if he says its ok to adjust TA then go for it as he has much more experience

I am using the Taylor FAS/DPD. In my mind's eye it says 47 because of the position between 40 and 50, but I will round it up from now on.

I looked at your other thread on this SLAM and you showed a TA of 90. How did you drop the TA that much during a SLAM?

You should check your TA test before adding. TA does not go down without significant addition of acid over time.

Well, I forgot to adjust my ph to 7.2 - 7.5 before I started slamming so I adjusted it from 8.0 to 7.5 and started over.

I cannot see how that would drop your TA that much.
