Another Pool Build in Cypress, TX

Rosie's from the Jetsons. She was the robot!

I have two new toys!!!! I got both about a week or so ago, and have been wanting to post their pictures. The first one is a super large syringe with tubing on the end. I found this idea under the Coffee Bar on 'Show us Your Test Kits'. They have so many great ideas there regarding nifty ways to store and organize your test kit stuff. Anyway..... as of now, I can't stoop over to collect my water sample from about 1-2 feet below the deep end surface. This works great!!!! I really love it. I just dip the tube into the water and draw the water. It holds plenty for all my tests, and it's so easy to use the tube to fill the test containers. I can add the water by the drop if I need to.

I ordered it from Amazon. VvW Large Plastic 100ml Syringe +120cm (47in) handy plastic tubing: Amazon.com: Industrial Scientific

My second new toy is the M500 Dolphin pool cleaner. She's wonderful!!! I definitely have a girl crush on her! I named her Rosie. Do you know where her name came from? A clue - I'm dating myself..... I was going to stay with the Polaris since I already had the pump for it. I knew I eventually wanted one, but I thought I should at least give the Polaris a chance. I woke up about 4 days before the Polaris was going to be delivered and ordered Rosie. I called my PB and told him not to bring the Polaris. Why wait and have both? From what everyone has said, I would not regret it. Already, I'm amazed by how much she picks up, and we aren't even using the fine filters yet. I'm so glad I did this. I just wish I had known to ask for one at contract time. One of our neighbors came over to look at the pool, again, so we showed him Rosie. I didn't think he was going to leave. He had more fun watching her. He even walked around the pool wherever she went!!!

Hey Suz - just heard about the gas leak in Cypress. Was that near you and you okay?

Marla, I just checked on the Cypress gas leak you asked about. Cypress is very spread out over a large area, so the odds were low it would be near us. It turns out the leak was only about a half mile or less from our house! I didn't hear a word about it from neighbors or friends. I'm glad I didn't smell it. The smell of gas freaks me out. Now that I think about it, I drove by there about 15 minutes before it happened. I didn't find any news of injuries.

I'm glad you keep up with the news!

Currently on our local news is the story of explosions, fires, and chemical leaks at the Drill Chem plant in/near Conroe. No word of injuries or casualties. We have some TFP-ers up around that area, but I can't say how close. Where they live in relation to the winds would be the important thing. As of now, they are asking people to shelter in place and turn off air conditioning units - Ugh!

Suz.

Hope everything is okay with the explosions you mentioned. That sounds scary.

I love your water test tube thingy! I want one!!!
I am ordering a hook to pick up my skimmer basket. I cannot reach all the way down to get the baskets out because they are so deep.
It's fun to find all these neat gadgets!
Tell me more about Rosie. We are very dissatisfied with our cleaner. She gets stuck between our wall and our handrail. I was telling my husband about the robots. Do the go into the pool after charging or just how do they operate ?

Rosie! Love the reference! Do you need an extra pump for her or does she hook up to the pool cleaner inlet inside the pool? Also, it looks like she has a power cord. How does that work with water? As a tech geek I want to hear! (And may research it as well...my little "Sammy suck" vacuums great, but it would be nice to have something a bit more powerful.

Just checked it out. Very cool. Does it do a good job brushing? Or are the treads just for traction? That is the job I hate most!

This is my first pool, and Rosie is my first pool cleaner, so I can't compare. I think she does a wonderful job! I need a Rosie for my house! This model has more brushes than some. She seems to do a good job brushing, but being new at all of this, I wouldn't know whether she really is or not. By the looks of the filters, she certainly picks up all sizes of debris. There's another set of filters that come with this model that are for very fine particle cleaning. We haven't tried those yet.

I had a feeling you would be right on the research before I could take pictures to show you. But..... by gum, I took the pictures in the hot morning sun, loaded them from my cell to my computer and then loaded them onto photobucket. So, ITR, you're going to see them, and you're going to love them!!!! (I never quite understood it when my parents told me that until I had kids of my own.)

And skip to another thread if you don't like to be bored by boring photos.

Here is my precious little Rosie (the maid robot from the Jetson's for those of you too young to know the TV cartoon).
Her front side is above in the thread, so this is her backside. Rosie's backside is just as pretty as her frontside! I wish I could say that...

Rosie off of her resting spot (the caddy) and all her particular parts.

A closer look at her parts.

And a close up of her two dirty filters. In the picture above, you can see the opening where one filter goes. The other goes across from that one.

I just ordered this sign from Amazon. I saw it in the 'Coffee Bar' under the "Skimmer Basket" section of this forum. I hate to ask people to observe this, and yet I hope they will. So if they DON'T observe this pool rule, I guess it's good I won't know!!! Lol!!

Well, actually, I ordered the one shown below this one. It's the aged looking sign with the red border and little blue waves at the bottom.

I can lift her on and off the caddy. So I think I could get her into the pool, but I'm doubtful I could get her out.

Nick is going to put her in and take her out of the pool. I'm going to clean the filters, wrap up the cords, and wheel her to her nook.

Amazon has so many cute pool signs. I decided that one was the most critical! Lol!!
