Ya'll are so funny!!! Khan would play well in any adventure type movie! He was like the first person I saw coming out the back door trying to get my eyes open. He grumbled at me about my car. I thought he wanted to know if I wanted to move it (but their pick-up was already blocking my car). I said no, that was ok. He then almost growled at me. He wanted in the garage to plug in something. We try to put Killer in the garage each night, so he won't get into as many fights. I knew Killer would want out. But he took one look at Khan and ran back under the car. Honest! So then I guess Kahn shut the door after he plugged in whatever, and I didn't notice. About 9am, Nick opened the garage door and Killer went tearing to the far back corner of the yard to escape hatch. Now, Killer you must understand, does not in any way live up to his name. In fact, he enjoys nothing better than to lie on a porch in the shade and watch the squirrels and birds taunt him. He doesn't move a muscle. And we've never seen him run. Maybe a slow trot at best where his stomach hangs down and sways back and forth. This morning he was a streak, a flash across the yard. I'm surprised he didn't fly across the pool. But I felt the same way when I first saw Kahn.
Here are a few more pictures from this morning.
This is the foreman spraying on the pebble plaster mix. He was the only one I saw doing that job. You can see the huge difference between where the pebble has been sprayed and not with just the gunite still showing.
The foreman spraying a second coat (I think).
I like this shot.... The big guy with a cowboy hat came for about an hour in the middle. He seemed to be a 'bigger' boss. I noticed the foreman didn't smile as much then. This big guy stood around usually with his hands on his hips or on the phone. He seemed really interested in the guy working on the 'Suz' or pony step of the deep end bench. He was working on the Shell Beach trim. I thought it was cool how the big guy was so involved with the guys. You can see he's pointing to one specific spot that had his attention. He held it there until the worker did whatever big guy wanted him to do.
Also in this photo I want to point out all the wires and cables they set up going across the pool. I'm sure it's already been in pictures, but I didn't pay attention. They hang all their different equipment with tubing or cords from those cables/wires. It reminded me of dentists' offices (more in the old days) where they hooked their evil drilling tools above on bars or lines.
In this step they are spraying with water while another guy has like a leaf blower helping to blow the water off as the guy sprays. I'm not sure, but when I told our PB that's what they were doing, he said cool, because that meant they were already to the stage of exposing the granite. So spraying off the excess plaster and blowing it off to the lower part of the pool. Down in the deep end is where they have a big tube which pulls up this excess plaster or slurry and dumps it up into the slurry box. (Again, doesn't this remind you of a dental procedure - the hygienist sprays water and at the same time vacuums up the water with another tool???? amazing) They built that box when they first arrived, and will remove it tomorrow.
One of my old teacher buddies is on her way over, so I'll post more later. Feel free to skip all of this if it's not interesting to you....
