Wow! What a day! I'm so glad today is over!!! What? You're kiddin' me, it's only 12:40!!!! So much has happened. I feel like I've been at it for a full day!!
The plaster crew packed up and left about 10:40am. Four hours - for them, an average job. They were amazing! BTW, the LOVE gatorade. I think they went through about 4 dozen bottles. I started them out with 2 dozen and had to add 2 dozen more as they worked. I have lots of pictures, and I will be posting. Give me a little bit of time....
I've been outside for the last two and a half hours. Suz is definitely a soaked and smelly girl! About 10:00 the landscape/deck guys came along with the owner of their company. I asked the Pebble foreman if it was ok for the landscape crew to be here with all their stone cutting and bringing in soil. I didn't know if all that dust would stick to and hurt the plaster. He said it was fine, no problem.
Until about 12:30, the landscape owner and I went over what seemed like every inch of the yard finalizing the plants for the different areas. I'm really happy and excited about what we chose. Some of the plants on the original design aren't in the best form this time of year, so we had to make some changes. He had good suggestions and showed me lots of pictures. I vetoed several of his early suggestions, so by then I think he realized I have my own ideas. After that he got the hang of the look I'm hoping to get. I'm not worried about any of that. My main concern about the landscaping was over the layout and the prep of the beds. Well, I also need them to put in the larger plants. I know myself, and I will be changing and adding plants as the seasons go and as some plants don't work out. My mom used to tell me that I moved plants around like most women move furniture.
As soon as he left, it was time for Nick and me to add our initials to the bottom of the outdoor shower. The landscape guy had poured that when he arrived, so we almost missed our chance.
I'll post one picture now, but then I need to take a break. It has been non-stop since 6:15 which is a lot for me. I'll post more pictures as I weed out the bad ones. I was clickin' like crazy! I took 84. I don't think you guys one to see that many!
Since I just mentioned it, here is the one of our initials on the shower floor. Nick and I agreed we needed to add Matt's initials, too, even though this is no longer where he lives. It is still his home. We almost forgot to add the month and year. We did that after I took this photo.
