So bad news and good news.

Bad news first... It is my absolute pet peeve when people set their own expectations and then don't follow up to change them when they should. PB-C told me they'd have a design to me by the end of the weekend. I was fine with Monday, but they said Sunday at the latest. So here it is Sunday night and nothing. I realize it's a personal issue of mine but I feel like if you say you'll do it and something changes and you don't get to it, send me an email or something. I'm totally fine with things changing but I like people to communicate when they say they will and that sadly seems to be so rare these days. I feel like I should get some kind of communication by the expected time frame. I've been hitting refresh on my email all day today. Hopefully they'll send it tomorrow but that's a point against them that A & B didn't have. For me, the communication is above all else most important.

Good news: One of our host families is selling their house with a pool and I offered to buy some of their patio furniture. They offered it to us for free!! One of the chairs got a rip in it at their son's bday party a week ago but who cares. My kids would probably have done that anyway and now I have an excuse to get nice cushions. So... We have our first pieces of furniture!

Lol. Yeah, and I have no idea how to sew. My husband might be able to do a little fix up on it. Ha! He's more domestic than I am.

So... Never mind on the bad news of yesterday. I woke up this morning to find out she sent over my design at 2:25 in the morning. That's still Sunday night to me so that counts! She sent it as a video link to YouTube and no images though. The builder info is displayed in the video. Can I post it or is that an issue?

I already see some tweaks I'd need to make and apparently I forgot to tell her we want a fire pit so there wasn't room left in our decking for that. I want to call her but considering the time she sent the email I thought I'd wait a little longer in case she's catching up on some sleep.

Do you mean there are no Pool Studio type pics? If there is a plan maybe just copy and paste it?

I mean there are literally no images. She sent me a link to a YouTube video. I asked for pictures but since I also asked for some changes I suspect she'll send the pictures after those changes are made. Apparently I forgot to ask for the fire pit while she was here. Oops!!

Here is the YouTube link. If it's not allowed, somebody please just let me know.

Wow!!! I love the pool and the presentation! It's beautiful!

I have a question about your house, from this video it looks like that brick wall facing the pool has no windows or doors, is that a true representation? If so, any chance that your master is on the other side of that wall? If so, or any other major room in your house, I'd put French doors or sliding glass doors wherever I could so you bring the outside in and you can enjoy your pool by just being able to see it from inside or access the patio from the master, I think that would really maximize your investment.

That brick wall actually has 3 windows and the living room is on the other side. We wouldn't be able to put doors there since it's the only wall a couch can go up against and our couch seats 10-13 people (on 6 over sized seats with 4 recliners). It's a very large sectional.

That is a NICE design! I do wish it was a printed picture so we can pick it apart (not that I saw anything I would change so far!)

Kim

Me too!

I spoke with our lender a bit ago and was told that they are at a standstill until we choose a builder and have a contract. [emoji15][emoji15] That means any hold up is on us. Go time! Lol

So I called PB-C back and explained that we are now in a hurry wanting to make a decision and potentially sign a contract by the end of the week. She said she had to take care of something for an HOA on a current build but was back to working on mine and would have something to me shortly... Complete with pictures.

Putting together my builder questions. Once I have everything typed (with a nice start thanks to Platipus!) I'll share here.
