Another in Texas - Cypress

My PB told me it would be 6-8wks start to finish depending on weather. I'm doing a colored salt concrete deck and ordering Lightstreams tile. So, since they can't tile until the order comes in (approx 4wks), all I have to do is try to get them to delay plaster for 3wks after the tile is installed so it can properly cure. With these delays, my build will probably be more like 10-12 weeks.

So... Somehow we ended up with a Pool Builder C today. I called two sprinkler companies yesterday to see about getting bids and one of them said we just couldn't sign a pool contract without talking to this builder first. He works with four pool builders in the area but this one, he would hire to do his own. I thought, well, why not. Certainly can't hurt.

So, she came out to meet with me today - she is designer/engineer, and her husband is project manager. I really did like them and she's supposed to have a design for me this weekend. We'll see what they come back with.

On another totally happy note, our appraiser FINALLY submitted the improvement appraisal correctly (he sent it in late the first time and as-is instead of with improvements). :happydance: House appraised for higher than expected so we can harden our budget now and hopefully do everything we want to do.

What a great choice of color! I can't wait to see it! It's amazing they'll do it in 5wks, mine took 8wks with me putting a lot of pressure on them but we had some rain and other inspection delays so 5 is very possible and really great to have them commit to it.

That's good to hear about the appraisal and builder C. They are someone you hadn't considered previously?
Oh, and I'm curious as to whether you decided on a landscape/ irrigation company?

I hadn't considered them before. It's weird because I asked on our community FB page of 5,000 plus members and got a ton of names on there and on here but their name wasn't listed. Apparently they have a ton of pools and referrals from my own neighborhood even so I don't know why they never made it on my list. Oh, well. I guess they are now. Lol

Not yet. I meet with the landscaping companies on Monday and Wednesday respectively.

Hopefully that will speed up the process a bit! Can't wait to get design and bid from PB-C so we can make the final tweaks and decisions and get submitted to HOA. That's potentially 45 days and we already know we're going to get rejected and need an appeal (that is "likely to be approved.")

Why are you going to get rejected? Our HOA made us add drainage out to the street, but we did get approved quickly after resubmission

Both are bling so both are good LOL. Ummmm would be a good one to ask this question of. Have you read his pool build? If not it is a sad, long, happy one!

Sorry I just saw this now. I think my best analogy for beads vs shells is beads are more jewel like and shells are more like glitter. I really love my beads and even today I was just admiring them. In full sun they sparkle at an angle and glisten and almost glow if you look straight down at them. At night they just make it look a tad more elegant. I haven't seen many pools with the shells as they seem to be more popular on here than in pools my builder has done or I have seen. Honestly I didn't even know about them until this site.

Oh and if you ever want to take a day trip to Austin you are more than welcome to come take a gander at the finish. We have a pretty good children's museum now. (They probably have something better in Houston though)
