Had an issue with green pool. Found you site followed your advise and treated with bleach. Maintainedc a fc of 7 - 10 for full day treated again this am now count to high to read and the water is still green. What would be the next step
We have had this pool for about 2 months and was told the only tests we neededwas for cl ph and alkaline. Guess I need to get a better test kit and get this thing under control
And answer all your questions about your pool. If we can answer them from afar with only test results... imagine what you can do right there by your own pool!
You can take a water sample to a pool store and have it tested. Post the results back in this thread.
Pool store testing is hit/miss, but we should be able to get enough info to at least get you started.
Having a good test kit will put you in control of your water. The fav around here is the TF100. Link in my sig.
Hey knightrider, make sure you read/reread http://www.troublefreepool.com/pool-school/shocking_your_pool its a process and can take some time. For your CYA of 40 ppm, poolcalculator.com is giving a suggested minimum shock level of 15 ppm, so to do the shocking process correctly, get your FC above that and keep it there until you pass the three criteria in the shocking process (also in my sig). You can use poolcalculator to calculate how much bleach/liquid chlorine to add.
