algae back after SLAM

so I spent 3 weeks slamming my pool to get rid of algae: passed all 3 parts of the slam test and let TC drift down to 5.

one week of sparkling pool heaven (we were so proud!!)

THEN yesterday there is green on the walls....asked husband to pour in a bottle of chlorine ASAP (I was at work) and brushed the walls last night. Water is JUST starting to look a touch cloudy at the deep end. No visible green on walls this morning. The dolphin bot is vacuuming away. (love that little devil btw)

measurements this AM:
FC 7.5
CC 0.5
TA 50
CYA 40-50
pH 7.3

do I really have to SLAM again?

or can I push the FC up to 10 and see if we pass the overnight test?

also: should I worry about adding bicarb to push the TA up now or wait until we've solved the green monster?

Sounds like something went wrong and you need to SLAM, but it might be a short one if you get on top of it early.

It also sounds like you might not be sure about your CYA level and that's important to know so your FC never drops below the minimum for yor CYA Pool School - Chlorine / CYA Chart

I find that the kimkats :kim: CYA method in this thread CYA test confusion is an easy way to get an accurate measure.
