AGP Newbie from western Canada

@Mdragger88 I'm on it haha thank you! Navigating large forums can be like finding a needle in a haystack for info sometimes. Happy I've had some good contacts here so far making this endeavor enjoyable!

Also, I had to pick up the Taylor K-2005(C) kit based on shipping times and pricing but after looking at the contents... I think what I'll do is go get the FAS/DPD titrating R-0871 and the DPD powder 20g R-0870 separately and just stuff em in my box! Haha 😄 it appears to be the only difference in the two kits minus instructions maybe... and I'm sure I can locate... know a good forum 😉 haha

Also bought the chems yesterday and filter sand! Will post a picture tonight sometime so y'all can tell me what to return to the store lmao 🤣

Cheers ladies and gents! 🍻

For the r0871 get the big 2oz bottle if you can. If not this year, since the season is almost done, then definitely next year as you’ll use it.
For The r003 the smaller bottle is fine.

In the spring tftestkits does the refill sale - looks like Abbotsford isn’t far from the border maybe one of the other methods will allow you to obtain a tftestkits order in the future

@Mdragger88 that's actually a good idea heading down south the prices can work out a lot better! Lots of people will do grocery trips for that reason too, if you saw what we pay for everyday things up here it would blow your mind haha 😄

Cool tip on the R003 also as I don't know what gets used up the fastest typically too.

I'm curious now too because the seller I got the kit from... it was actually "Taylor k-2005C-8" and in the ad itself it says "8 pack" and 8 boxes and 20 ounce bottles... I looked into it a little and apparently people can get a case-lot of 8... I guess probably for commercial use sold at a cheaper rate so I'm guessing they resell as single test kits (from the 8) and make some extra green or give better pricing that way.

I'd be really surprised if I ended up receiving 8 K2005C kits lol 😆

Let us know what you end up with!

The r0003 (cc reagent) you only use 5 drops every time. Many also don’t need to test for cc’s every single time .
wheras the r0871 each drop counts as 0.5ppm so depending upon how high your fc is it can be alot of drops each time. Then you also use it for the cc test. Best to get the bigger bottle.

Lol @Newdude I should mention too my wheelbarrows tire is totally flat 😅 I haven't got around to fixing it so I just used it loaded with gravel like that but... I had a clever fix in my laziness lol I took a rubber wheel dolly/hand truck and used that to substitute the front wheel lmao 🤣 worked great! Plus as a bonus it forces someone to help me haul the loads around cutting my work in half lol... takes work smarter, not harder to city worker/politician level lol 😆 😜

Still waiting on the water test kit and a few more supplies... picked up the leg support bases I'm going to use, much cheaper going with pressure treated 6'x8'x2" over using pavers... I'm fairly confident they will work as my ground is stiffer than... lots of stiff innuendo references (couldn't decide lmao)

Getting the house pressure washed tomorrow and then back to pool grinding before summer is outta here!

Still here... was waiting for the pressure washing to be done got rescheduled a couple times but finally done!

K2005C-8 arrived and as I expected, nothing extra included for the $256 Canadian... so the "-8" part means diddly. Took longer than I'd like but at least it's finally here!

At this point I'll be lucky to have the pool done by winter lol 😆 but hey! Gives ya something to look forward to at any rate for next season... we still have a couple months before it'll be too chilly. Now just debating if it'll be worth unboxing or waiting until March and have a go then instead 🤔
