Afraid Of My Pool

I hope so. That was his thoughts. I thought for sure he would be lining up allergy tests, however he did not think that was it. I never tested positive for latex, metals etc etc, just pollen/dust allergies, none of which ever caused a rash like this. Never had an issue with chlorine or SW pools before, so it has to be that salt. I may never know what actually caused it but I sure hope we are on the right track with the salt additive being the suspect. It certainly all lines up pointing in that direction.

Good to hear it’s not an allergy. Obviously a skin irritation isn’t pleasant, but it won’t kill you like a true allergy had the potential to do. Hopefully the dermatologist can shed some light on it. If not, it might just be one of those things, though I do agree it sounds like an additive in the salt.

Here I am. Long day yesterday. Saw the dermatologist. He believes that this was the pool but wants to be certain, so he did a biopsy. The rash was no where like it was, almost cleared up since I have not been in the pool since 10/31. Obviously told me to stay out of it until we know what is going on. He thought it was a very good idea to have diluted the pool to get the salt out. So I await the results.

So we are done with the slam and this is what we have this a.m.

CL: 6
CC: 0
PH: 7.2
TA: 40
CYA: 35
CAL: 90

So, we have some work to do. Suggestions how to start?

Agreed. Just posted below on what happened at dermatologists.

You need to add calcium to get your CH to 300 ppm or so. Otherwise follow the [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA].
