I added over 120 drops of R-0871 into my Chlorine Drop Test, but the solution still won’t clear up. It remains cloudy, and I'm worried I might be misusing the test kit or will run out of R-0871 before getting clear results! Despite following the instructions and trying different samples, I'm left with cloudy, chalky water. How many milliliters of R-0871 should I expect to add to make the pool sample clear?

The test should start out pink after adding the powder. Did you add that? Cloudy is not one of the test features.

What are your other test results?
In the past, with a high CH (over 800 for me), I've experienced adding R-0870 turns the water sample a cloudy pink. I add R-0871 drops until the sample turns cloudy white-ish clear. The point being getting the sample to not be pink any longer.

That solved it. The solution remained chalky white cloudy but pink disappeared at 14-15 drops
