Adding muriatic acid increased my FC

I'm coming off of a slam after 5 days or so. FC was down to 12 (measured twice over 10 hours) and I knew my ph would be high so I tested it (I know, I know should only be done <10FC) and got 7.6-7.8.
I added enough MA to get to 7.2 and measured chlorine again about 2 hours later and it was 14! Tested again to be sure and got the same answer. I guess it makes sense, but the poolmath app doesn't mention an FC increase in "Effects of adding" so I googled here and also didn't find it. Just an interesting observation.

Clean vials. Hold bottle vertical. Use speed stir. Let drops fall under their own weight vs squeezing them out, error in the test (+/-1 drop in 10)...

Had one last week. Guy didn't believe me, so he video taped it...came back and said, "you were right."

I've seen it 1000s of times. 👍

Dare I tell you "that guy" was me? Measured just now and got 14 again so I dunno. It would actually make perfect sense if I accidentally used chlorine instead of muriatic acid.
