I would like to add a discharge line to drain the pool.
Being in South Florida and we have frequent down pours that may last days, not to mention hurricanes, my currently set up has no way to lower the pool water level by say 6 to 8 inches if necessary.
I assume the best way to TEE in for such a discharge line is between the outlet of the pump and before it enters the filter? Just thinking there is no need to run this water through the filter? Or is another location better?
I could just cut the 2" PVC line and insert a tee, and a PVC ball valve downstream of the tee, and put a male adapter on the branch line, and terminate it with a threaded cap. If I want to discharge just open the cap, close the ball valve, and let it drain. Or would it be better to have a more expensive three way valve there?
