We just had a company come out and dig down to level our ground. The guy that did it put two piles of sand on top and told us to spread it out and then set up the pool. This is our first pool and I believe we were only supposed to spread it out on the inside of the pool once we set it up. Because of this error, it is about 2 inches unlevel after filling. The pool is an 18 foot oval, steel wall pool and only the ends are unlevel from the sand. Should the sand eventually settle and level out the pool, or will I need to take the whole pool down and restart?

Welcome to TFP! The purpose of the sand is really to help make the floor more comfortable for the people standing in the pool. It may also help protect the liner (a little) from debris in the ground. It isn't good for the paver/post stability. Here at TFP, we consider a pool safe and level as long as it doesn't exceed about 1 inch. There's a little wiggle room perhaps, but once you start getting to 2 inches or more, you have to consider all the stress being placed on the low wall, especially when swimmers are making waves. Feel free to post some pics of the pool from different angles if you would like for us to look it over.
