A Houston Pool Build Inside the Loop

I still have to decide where to inlay my Texas star on my deck. I have cut out a 36" round piece of cardboard and will try placing it in different spots. Hubby wants it in front of the firepit, between the house and the pit, but I think it would end up getting covered up by patio furniture. I'm thinking it may want to go between the garage and raised deck. Will need to play with it more. I have found someone in Bastrop that will make it as an inlay with my pavers and grayish porcelain tile.

I originally wanted the silver travertine, but the porcelain tile has shading to it that gives it a 3D effect.

This is the look I want, except with light gray porcelain tile. It's the 2nd picture, but with the gray star in the 3rd pic, so it looks like it's inlayed into the deck.

Pretty name. I also have an Aubri. [emoji3]
And I love the star. I can't wait to see it wherever you decide to put
It!
Our grandkids love our pool! They are already asking to come but it's still too cold. I thought about that when I heard you were expecting your first grandchild.
Our pool designer kept telling us the pool was a kid magnet. [emoji3]

Yes, I think they are doing excellent work and it looks even better in person! They put a drain on the top of the pedestals since we are planning on putting pots up there and that will allow them to drain, but not into the pool. Also, I think they did a good job in blending the different shades of the silver travertine.

Marla, it looks like they are doing a beautiful job! The stone and tile work is something that really requires an artist in order for it to look crisp and clean. Looks like that's what you got! Can't wait to see that star when it's done!

Thanks y'all! Waiting on the travertine for the back wall to come in. Also the 1x1 step markers have to be put in. Same color as the waterline tile but iridescent.
But, since I was waiting, I ordered my TF-100 test kit with the stirrer! Also got free shipping! Woo-hoo!

Haven't quite decided on the star location, but in keeping with the symmetry of the pool, it seems to want to go in the space between the fire pit and the house. Thoughts?

Did you order more than one stir pill?

I got the idea from someone else on the forum but I found that it is nice to have more than one stir pill and measurement tube. I needed refills for my pH and quick chlorine tests so I ordered more pills and tubes too. This way I can run all the tests without having to get up and rinse.
