Denise, I don't think so. There are a few changes that need to be made before we sign. Would like to have the design set before signing. That way we will have a closer idea of $$$.
Thanks Kim! Yeah I was surprised by the amount of heat put out by the fire pit. So I THINK we can go a bit smaller on our pit and increase the pool area by a smidge. At the first pool we saw, I asked the PB if the color was Blue Granite, and he just looked at me and said how did I know that? LOL!
Also considering 4' -5' instead of 3.5'- 5 because it is a small pool.

I bet he does what Suz's PB did---------when he sees your test kit AND that you know how to use it he will just have you do the testing and adding as needed after you text him your results and action needed.

Kim, they maintain the pool for 2 months. But I definitely will be doing my own testing!
That is nice of them! It will save you some money as the chemical for a start can add up. I am glad you will still be testing it just to be on the safe side.

My hubby is meeting the PB and owner today. I have a list of things for him to ask, changes we've made, etc, and I can't remember about plumbing for the skimmers. I forgot to write it down. Are they supposed to be plumbed with separate lines for suction reasons? Just wanting to make sure we get everything into the final price.
I like the skimmer and main drain being plumbed separate so you can adjust for cleaning top or bottom or both for every day use.

My skimmers are plumbed separately from the main drain. Plus there is a control to work how much water goes back through the skimmers on return for the venturi effect.

Both of my skimmers are venturi skimmers. They have a return that runs underneath them and the water going through underneath causes suction at the top that is supposed to suck in leaves etc... I can turn the returns off to the skimmers if I want independent of the other returns on the pool.
This site has a basic description. Basically I can turn off the part going from the pump back into the pump.

You probably want to ask them if they do and if they don't can they. They might charge you for some extra plumbing and a valve. I think it really helps at least I am seeing with mine already. I can put more focus on the main drain when we are scrubbing to pull the dirt out of the pool but later switch more strength to the skimmers to try to get all the leaves before they sink to the bottom.

Marla, what's the status on contract signing?
Denise, we are waiting on some final revisions and what the cost will be. We are trying my to get as much pool as we can! I am hoping it'll be either the end of this week or next.
Umm thanks for the link! I have just emailed the PB to see if these are what they use. Are they normally considered an upgrade?
My pool builder included those in the original cost. I think they put them in all their pools including the rectangular main drain that is plastered and flush return fittings. Stuff like that.
Just talked with my PB and they plumb everything separate. So many little details to know! I'm so grateful for this site and you amazing people!!
I can't wait for you to get signed and underway! Do you have any utility issues to take care of before digging like we do?
