I have been using a powder when needed vs buying liquid..My question is will this increase my CYA? I am hoping not :)
Just had pool done with new quartz and looks great and want to keep it that way.

Yes, Dichlor adds CYA

All solid forms of chlorine add something.

Trichlor - CYA

Dichlor - CYA

CalHypo - Calcium

Stick with liquid or get a SWCG

Thanks!! When my CYA was around 100 ( long story, was using test strips ) I was buying 12 gallons to shock..Maybe a few will do now :)
When this powder is gone I will switch to liquid.

When the powder is gone? How much more do you have left? Dichlor adds nearly as much CYA as it does chlorine so your CYA level is probably rising by 5-15 a week if that is all you are using to chlorinate.
