I have been using a powder when needed vs buying liquid..My question is will this increase my CYA? I am hoping not

Yes, Dichlor adds CYA

All solid forms of chlorine add something.

Trichlor - CYA

Dichlor - CYA

CalHypo - Calcium

Thanks!! When my CYA was around 100 ( long story, was using test strips ) I was buying 12 gallons to shock..Maybe a few will do now
When this powder is gone I will switch to liquid.

Keep it around to boost your cya when it gets low, switch to bleach now

When the powder is gone? How much more do you have left? Dichlor adds nearly as much CYA as it does chlorine so your CYA level is probably rising by 5-15 a week if that is all you are using to chlorinate.

THIS!!!!! my CYA is off the charts. I've drained my pool twice now trying to get it to normal levels. switch to liquids asap

My CYA is around 20 so have a little wiggle room..Not a lot of powder left, bought 25 pds last year.
