Any Laminar experts on here? The things work great, but I'm pulling my hair out trying to get the the colors to sync up correctly and one of the two is only showing light at the top of the stream instead of all the way through. Its hooked up to an aqualink pda system. One button for pool lights which sync up and work correctly, one button for laminar lights which both show different colors.

Any ideas how to get the lights synced up and how to get the laminar that isn't only showing color on the top to show all the way through the stream?

Well I adjusted one of the laminars so the light is good on it now, but still cannot figure out how to get both of them to show the same colors, I pick whatever color I want and both of them just show what ever color they feel like but they are changing colors. I tried from the panel instead of the pda and can't seem to figure out how to get them to reset back to the default color so they will be in sync.

I spoke to soon, adjusted the laminar light and now its great at the bottom and no where else, the other one is perfect.

To Operate the Light and Change Colors

Turn the light ON. The fi rst time the light is turned on,
the color sequence begins with the Alpine White. To
change the color, turn the light OFF and then ON within
three (3) seconds. Continue turning OFF and ON until
the desired light color mode is reached. See Table 2 for
the color mode sequence.

Here is what you need to synch the lights.

NOTE When the light is turned OFF for more than
seven (7) seconds, it will remain in the color set
that is currently active. When the light is turned
back ON, the light will be on the same color set.
7.2 To Reset to the Beginning of the Color Sequence
Turn the light OFF, wait four (4) to six (6) seconds, then
turn ON, the light will return to the beginning of the
color cycle (Alpine White).

NOTE If an AquaLink® RS control system is being
used the color set can be selected using the
controller.

NOTE To synchronize colors on multiple Jandy
WaterColors light systems and Jandy Laminar
Jets with LED Lights wired to separate
switches, preform the above actions on all of the
switches simultaneously. All Jandy WaterColors
lights and Jandy laminar jet with LED lights will
synchronize automatically if activated by the
same switch. No other accessories are required.

Thank you, I've read the manual like you posted but these things aren't going back to white, I turned off the breaker for 5 seconds, turned it back on and still they are just switching colors randomly. The 2 laminars are on one relay, the 3 pool lights are on another relay and the 3 pool lights are in sync and work fine.

have you assigned the "Jandy LED light" to the laminar jets?

Yes, I assigned the lights and laminar lights to jl, only option it gives me, the laminar just keep switching colors. I went in and unassigned jl and they still just switch colors

Okay, it seems that I actually have pentair laminars which seems pretty stupid when the rest of the system is jandy. Does anyone know the best way to make these work with the Aqualink PDA?

well that explains a lot then...not sure on the syncing set up but i would say that you may have to turn the AUX on and off to change the colour as the Aqualink does not have the light set up to suit Pentair, but here is their manual, http://www.pentairpool.com/pdfs/590033DOM.pdf

Does the iaqualink do it? Jandy tech said something about a rev 7 pda version that would control them

the latest PDA (rev7) has the function to assign the SAM/SAL lights cycle to the lights and this is a trademark of Pentair. not sure when they introduced this function but obviously after your rev version.
