Ok, so we all know that high CYA is the major cause of issues in pools, chemical manufacturers can make ever other useless product under the sun, but why cant they make a product that will deplete CYA?
what is it? It might be more cost effective then ppl having to drain their pools, especially if they are on a well system, some wells cant handle that much water draw
The product was almost an "oasis" (was even marketed under the o-ACE-sis label) as I don't remember anybody ever buying the product, just a few people seeing it at Ace Hardware stores.
It's not just expensive, the the product was melamine, just like what you use in the CYA measurement test. It creates a cloudy, precipitated mess and if you add any more CYA to the water it will cloud back up again.
